+++ Game for a laugh +++

Former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert finds that working in a house of ill repute has a funny side.

Jodi Albert found new risqué sitcom Respectable difficult- not because she had problems playing a prostitute, but because she couldn't stop cracking up.

"There were so many times when I was crying with laughter," she smiles. "The director had to come over and tell us not to have so much fun!

"We started early and worked long days, but I’ve never been so keen to get up at 6am."

The six part sitcom was co-written by Harry Thompson, creator of Have I Got News For You, who sadly died of cancer in November 2005.

Jodi stars as dizzy Hayley, who lives in a brothel run by mother hen Maureen, played by Beatrice Kelly.

"Hayley's a bit dim," says Jodi, 23, ho found fame playing Debbie Dean in Hollyoaks. "But she’s very sweet and kind."

When shy punter Michael, played by Justin Edwards, arrives, he's too nervous to do anything but talk. However, the pair begin a curious friendship.

Though the series is based around prostitution, Jodi insists that it isn't obscene. "It is not at all seedy or dirty," she smiles. "It’s very cleverly written. It reminded me a bit of The Office, in that it is very realistic, but also has lots of surreal moments. "I feel privileged to be a part of it."
