Forme Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert reveals how she rejected a lucrative reality TV deal to make it big in Hollywood, plus why boyfriend Kian is so romantic...

Apart from the odd rumour that she's joining EastEnders, we haven't heard much from Jodi Albert since she left Hollyoaks at Christmas. She hasn't, however, simply been wallowing in demestic bliss with her boyfriend, Westlife's Kian Egan - she's been working hard.
Recently she's been filming a T4 documentary called California Dreaming, in which she - along with four other British stars including Ewan Macintosh (Keith in The Office) - attempts to launch a career stateside. Tha show, which stars next month, is presented by Vernon Kay.
Back on this side of the pond, Jodi, 21, is endorsing the World Cancer Research Fund's Fruity Friday, promoting the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle. She is currently splitting her time between her hometown of London and Kian's luxury pas in Sligo, Ireland. And, naturally, since they've been dating for almost two years, there's constant speculation that she and Kian, 25, are set to tie the knot. So is the sound of wedding bells ringing across the Irish Sea? New! finds out...

Jodi, are you fed up with people asking when you and Kian are going to get married?
Actually, no one's asked for a while.

In that case, when are you two lovebirds going to tie the knot?
Not yet! I'm only 21. We're really happy, but we're going to wait until we're older. There are a lot of things I want to do in my career before I settle down.

Is Kian a real Irish charmer?
Yeah, he does loads of romantic things. On Valentine's Day, he rented a villa in the country and decorated it with 500 candles, champagne and chocolate. He went all out. He's very sweet.

Do you double-date with Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem?
[Laughs] That's so lame! But once, Kian and I did got to at one of the boys' favourite restaurants, and Brian and Delta were there so we had a chat. Kian keeps in touch with Brian, and Delta's a great girl.

We read you were planning a girls' holiday with Kerry Katona...
That was rubbish! I don't know where they got that.

So you don't like her, then?
It's not that! I know Kerry, but don't call her. If I bump into her, I say hello but we're not so close that I'd ask her to go on holiday!

Is it true you've been offered a part in EastEnders?
No, it's not true. I've just come out of one soap, so I don't really want to go straight into another.

Did you turn down £100.000 to appear in Celebrity Wrestling?
I don't know about £100.000, but I did turn it down! I really want to concentrate on acting, I don't want to be a media whore.

So you want to make it in Hollywood, do you?
Yeah, because that's where the film industry is. I want to push my career as far as it will go and get as much experience as I can.

Did you land any parts after doing California Dreaming?

I had a few good meetings but nothing concrete has come up yet. But it was a weird time for me because when I got out there I found out my best friend had been killed in a car accident. We'd known each other since we were 11, so it knocked me for six. I just wanted to come home.

We're sorry to hear that. Do you think you'll go back to LA?
It's a good place and there are a lot of opportunities. But everyone is either an actor or an actress. It's ridiculous! I ended up saying I was a beautician.

Why did you get invovled with the World Cancer Research Fund's Fruity Friday campaign?
My nan suffered from breast cancer, so cancer research has always been something I've been interested in. It's such a good message they're putting across.

Do you eat healthily yourself?
I'm no angel, but I do try. But I'm a bit of a sucker for chocolate. That's my weakness.

Do you follow any special diets?
Not really, I eat little and often - all in moderation. I go to the gym two or three times a wekk and dance three or four times a week.

Oh yes, we saw you cancing on the recent Hollyoaks Dance Workout DVD...
Erm, that wasn't really my type of dancing. I do more hip-hop and street-style dancing. But that DVD took four days to shoot. I think by the end of it, they had to pick me up off the floor!
