Jodi Albert may be just 21, but she knows exactly what she wants from life and how to get it. The beautiful girlfriend of Westlife star Kian Egan became a household name - for teenagers and father! - due to her role as Debbie in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, ana has now left to pursue other acting projects. But the actress has no plans to sell her soul for fame.
With her enviable figure and luscious dark locks, it's not surprosing that she became a hit with male viewers - and hooked herself a handsome pop star boyfriend. But here Jodi explains why she intends to shy away from sexy shoots and why she and Kian, 24, are not to court too much publicity...

You recently did a shoot for a men's magazine. How do you feel posing for sexy photographs?
I wont start stripping my clothes off for publicity. I did a shoot for a men's magazine's January cover, but I was very cautious about what type of shots I did. In Hollyoaks, we had to do really sexy shoots because it was in our contract, but I had long talks with the magazine about the type of image I wanted to get across - I don't want to look like a little cheap so-and-so. So we did pictures where I wore a leather jacket with a little top underneath and I think it worked really well.

How did you handle being famouse, especially as part of a celebrity couple?
The whole fame thing is kind of strange. Like when I log on to the Internet, there are all these sites which say: 'Jodi naked' or 'Jodi topless', and they just superimpose my head onto someone's body. I just laugh at that kind of stuff, though, because I know I've never done anything like that. I've no skeletons in my closet.

How does the public interest in you and Kian affect your relationship?
Myself and Kian don't go out of our way to be pictures together. I'm not one for over-exposure and neither is Kian. I think too much press coverage can spoil a relationshop, just because if you are in the papers so much then there is nothing left for you. We are not into doing magazine shoots together.

What is Kian like?
Kian is so down to earth and I love that about him. My parents have gone on holidays along the coast of England all their lives and Kian has no problem coming along with us. Kian doesn't expect everything to be posh - he's not stuck-up about stuff.

You just presented together at the Cheerios ChildLine Concert in Dublin. How was that?
It's such a big concert, so naturally I was nervous. I've presented TV shows before, but that's not on the same scale. I'm okay in front of a camera, but was a completely new experience, especially as Kian and I had never worked together professionally.

You've said you're a big fan of Westlife - what other music do you like?
I was mad into Take That when I was growing up but now I love singers like Beyouncé, Delta Goodrem and Céline Dion. I was in a girl band called Girl Thing and we actually played at the ChildLine Concert in 2000, so it was nice to present it.

Would you and Kian ever do a duet?
No way - that would be far too cheesy.

Have you ever met any of your idols at celebrity bashes?
I met Céline Dion and I got completely tongue-tied. It was in Las Vegas for the MTV World Music Awards with Kian, and Céline was on stage and Kian said to me; "Babe, have you got your backstage pass?" He grabbed my hand and we went off to find her. We were at the side of the stage and Céline walked beside us to look at the monitos, I didn't want to sound like a geek by saying: "I'm your biggest fan," so eventually I said to her: "I really admire you," and she was really friendly. Kian asked her if I could get my photo taken with her and she obliged. I wouldn't have even thought to ask for a photo and now I have one!

Was it difficult to leave Hollyoaks?
Filming the last scenes in Hollyoaks was weird. All the crew were dead nice, but it was 100 per cent my decission to leave - no one made me. So, while I was excited to leave, I was nervous, too. I loved my character Debbie. She's quite streetwise, with a heart of gold. She wears her heart on her sleeve and speaks her mind, but she can be pretty bitchy, too. Debbie was versatile character and fun to play. We are similar in some way, I'm loyal and sensitive like Debbie, but not ballsy.

So what's next for you career-wise?
I don't want to do another soap but I'd love to do a TV drama or something on the big screen, even if it's only a small part. I've had a couple of meetings with different directors and I'm hoping thing will work out for me. I'll just have to wait and see, I know I'm only 21 years old and I've still got loads to learn. Kian has been great, and my mum, Eileen, is my rock. Everyone has days when it all gets too much and mum is brilliant. She's my amminition and she spars me on to be ambicious.

Is Kian supportive?
Kian is dead supportive and I think that's important in a relationship. Recently I'd just come out of a screening and I rang Kian straight away and he was like: "How did get on, babe?" I do the same for Kian. Even though I've seem thounsands of Westlife concerts, I still go whenever I can and then at least I can say: "You did this well," or: "That really wasn't very effective."

Did you always want a showbiz career?
I knew I wanted to be an actress when I was ten years old. I remember I was watching TV and I saw my cousin Hayley in a hot chocolate commercial and I just started saying: "I want to do that. I want to do that." I was bugging mum for ages, but she said acting was for kids whose parents had money. My older sister got on the case too, and eventually my parents agreed to send me to stage school. They actually remorgaged their house - they knew I was passionate about acting.

You always look stunning - do you have a beauty routine?
I'm not that good at looking after my skin, but I really care for my hair because there's no point in having long hair if it's going to be in rats' tails. As for my diet, I eat a lot of junk food, I'm afraid!

What do you hate or love about your body?
I have a belly button ring and it's pretty, and I think it makes my belly look much slimmer than it is. I don't like my feet, I hate feets!

Do you have any tattoos?
I have two. I've got a little love heart on the top of my bum. I also have a little devil on my ankle!
